I can't do it!

The worst thing to do is give up and believe that you cannot do it! No matter how much we copmplain and what we say, deep down inside we have the ability to do everything. In fact we mostly manage to do things, when they are forced on us.

So why don't we adopt a more positive attitude and try to do what needs to be done. Later if we fail, we can say that we don't want to acomplish the thing.

It has happened with a friend of mine. We were studying a course on World history and my friend continued to say that she couldn't do it, through out the semester. And thats exactly what happened, although she is above average in class, still she did not manage to get a good grade in the subject.

What actually happens it that our words have a deep impact on our personality and attitude. Continously saying it over and over again, we are unable to realize when we start beleiving the small phrase: "I can't do it!"

One minute management lesson

Here a shot managment lesson that we need to learn:

An eagle was sitting on a tree top, doing nothing. A rabbit came by and asked: "Can I also sit like you and do nothing?"
The eagle said: "Sure, why not?"
So the rabbit sat doing nothing. A short while later, a fox came, grabbed the rabbit and ate him.

Management lesson:

"To be sitting and doing nothind you need to be sitting very high up!"

Ganging up on Inzimam

What justice is this that you eat up all the money and put the blame of bad performance on Inzimam? Our selectors and the PCB board are the main culprits. They say that Inzimam did not listen to him, so why didn't they take any measures right then and there?

If such is the case why was he allowed to lead the team? The whole board couldn't control one person? Now they say Inzimam ois the only one to blame!!

And what kind of a media manager is P J Mir? Instead of supporting the team, he began critizing it. So now it is a crime to offer prayers and being religious? Isn't the Wes enough to gang up on Muslims? When our own people are not supporting us, how do you expect the others to help you?

Our cricket team is one of the best in the world. they are unpredictable and all teams are tense playing with us, no matter what our performance has been in the past.

There are no reasons for our bad performance except for blackmail, and coercion on the part of the bookies. Millions have been made through Pakistani team's perfermance and the same millionaires are complaining... what irony?

Be positive

Never listen to other people's tendencies to be negative or pessimistic.... because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you -- the ones you have in your heart!Always think of the power words have. Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!

ALWAYS be....POSITIVE!

And above all:
Be DEAF when people tell you that you cannot fulfill your dreams!

British Sailors released

No matter what Britain says now, Ahmedi Nejad has just given them a shocking present, they werent expecting. They can interpret it in anyway they want, manipulate the facts but the truth still stands that Iran has set an example of a tolerant country for the whole world to see. The way the sailors looked on television, showed how well they had been treated. And even though Iran had every right to hold them back, it forgave Britain.

It was high time some one put an example of a tolerant, forgiving Muslim country. Iran has just earned respect from the whole world.

Now Britain is trying to save face and failing. Instead of apologizing, it still denies trespassing into Iranian waters.

We can only hope n dream that someday Pakistan will also be able to stand up against the world powers and not let them dictate us.

Tapping in Passion

There are three main areas to consider when tapping into someone’s passion:

Identification
When considering an employee who does not show a lot of emotion, it is easy to jump to the conclusion that everything in his or her life generates boredom. This is, however, unlikely to be the case. Most people are passionate about something; the key is to identify it, and then to locate a work context in which it can be expressed. You may find clues by observing the person in question and reflecting on their previous performance. Perhaps they were particularly enthusiastic when running a certain project, organizing a social event, or serving on a committee. Explore which aspects of these roles generated the uncharacteristic level of interest and enthusiasm. For example, maybe they appreciated the “expert” status bestowed upon them as a project leader; or enjoyed interacting with a wide network of people. If these opportunities are not present in their current role, then you have probably determined why they seem dispirited.
If you have never seen any evidence of passion in the workplace, ask your employee about interests outside of work, and try to identify the root of their passion in this manner.
Once you have discovered the basis of an employee’s passion, try to accommodate components of that passion in their job. This could be done, for example, by realigning their current job objectives, offering them a special project, or even moving them into a new job where they can engage their enthusiasm constructively.

Creative Direction
Passion is not always easy to manage. Signs of passion in a team member are often welcome, but not if that passion is inappropriately directed and therefore disruptive to the other team members. Passion needs a framework through which it can be effectively and creatively managed; this requires creating clear individual and team objectives to properly direct that passion. Managerial guidance—for example, reiterating objectives—can help keep enthusiastic team members focused and on track. Additionally, with clearly-stated objectives, an individual’s inappropriate use of enthusiasm can be addressed in performance appraisals, if necessary.

Rewards
It is not difficult to reward a team member for using his or her passion creatively and to the benefit of the organization. In most cases, a simple “thank you” adequately demonstrates appreciation, although a particularly valuable contribution may warrant a more tangible reward. Neglecting to recognize employees’ contribution and energy is likely to cause offense and hurt.
If someone’s passion differs from your own, it is easy to overlook or even devalue it. Make a conscious effort to learn about the passions of each member of your team; doing so in a team-building session allows other members of the team to tap this energy as well. In this way, new responsibilities can be allocated according to natural aptitude and desire—as well as experience and skill—and everyone can take responsibility for creating a high-performing team.
You may find that you are managing team members who have not discovered their own passions. This can happen when an individual enters a career early and/or has never really thought about his or her personal aspirations. Some employees may have never experienced professional tasks or activities that resonated with their personalities. Consider placing these team members into various situations that trigger different aspects of their talent; this should provide them opportunities to explore their nature in more depth. Also, encourage these employees to network in other parts of the business, to discover potential new interest areas. A wide exposure to the business may get them thinking more passionately about future career goals and delivering more value through their work performance.

Inzimam Retires One day - Is it fair?

I believe Inzimam shouldn't have retired. He was a good leader and dedicated to his career. He was good in integrating the team members and boosting up their morales. He has worked hard all these years and what does he get in return? The government doesnt even care.

An ineffective person has been appointed the Chairman of PCB and despite his failure to manage the Board, his resignation was rejected. What is he doing in that position when he doesn't know anything about administration?

Pakistan has a tendency to misinterpret potential and credibility of people. If only the politics had been put on hold for the duration of the World Cup. Pakistan was in good shape and it could easily have won the Cup. Our players have always been the ones to surprise the world.

Asking the Right Question

Jack and Max are walking from religious service. Jack wonders whether it would be all right to smoke while praying.

Max replies, "Why don't you ask the Priest?"

So Jack goes up to the Priest and asks, " Father, may I smoke while I pray?" The Priest replies, "No, my son, you may not! That's utter disrespect to our religion."

Jack goes back to his friend and tells him what the good Priest told him.

Max says, "I'm not surprised. You asked the wrong question. Let me try."

And so Max goes up to the Priest and asks, "Father, may I pray while I smoke ?" To which the Priest eagerly replies, "By all means, my son. By all means. You can always pray whenever you want to."

Moral of the story is ... The reply you get depends on the question you ask.

For example, if you want a vacation when still working on a project don't ask for the holiday.

Ask: "Can I keep working on this project while I'm on vacation?"
